Olomouc is a compact historic city in Moravia, dominated by Palacký University, which was founded in 1573 and is the second-oldest in the country. Its medical faculty teaches in English and draws a substantial international intake.
The city itself is small — a UNESCO-listed baroque column in the main square, a walkable centre, and a student population large enough relative to the town that it sets the atmosphere.

This is the clearest illustration of Czechia's proposition. A Czech-medium degree at Palacký, living in Olomouc, is close to the least expensive way for a Nepali student to obtain an EU qualification — no tuition, and the lowest living costs in the country. The condition is real and it is the same one the whole country attaches: you have to learn Czech well enough to study in it, and in a small Moravian city you will need it for ordinary life too.
