moving money from Nepal
Paying tuition and living costs abroad means moving money out of Nepal — which is regulated. Here's how students do it, in order.

01what you can send
Nepal Rastra Bank sets the rules and limits for sending money abroad for study. In practice, what you can remit is tied to your actual tuition and documented living costs — not an open allowance.
02how the money is sent
The order matters. The NOC comes first; only then will a bank remit your tuition directly to the institution, with living costs following the permitted channels.

Limits, exchange rates, and the documents your bank asks for all change. Confirm the current process with your own bank and NRB before you rely on any figure or timeline.
