St Julian's and neighbouring Paceville are where Malta's international economy is physically located. The iGaming operators, financial services firms and much of the technology sector have offices here, and a large share of the island's foreign professional population lives nearby.
It is also where most of the English language schools are, and where Malta's nightlife is concentrated — which some students want and others actively do not.
For a degree student the relevance is employment rather than teaching: this is where your internship and your post-study job offer are most likely to be, and Malta's route to staying runs entirely through an employer.

The main campus is a short bus ride away at Msida; many students live in this area and commute.St Julian's is the most expensive part of an island where nothing is very far apart. What the premium buys is proximity to the international employers, which matters because Malta has no post-study job-search visa and staying depends on getting sponsored.

If you want a genuine reason to weight one Maltese town over another, this is the only one we can offer honestly: the international employers cluster here, and because Malta has no automatic post-study visa, being near them during your final year has some value. It is a modest argument. It is not remotely as important as whether the institution you enrol at is accredited.
