The choice here is a fork, not a gradient: the English-speaking job market is in Budapest, and the English-taught medicine is largely everywhere else — at meaningfully lower cost.
Hungary's four main student cities divide along a line that is unusually clear. Budapest has the general universities, the capital's prestige and essentially all of the English-speaking graduate job market. Debrecen, Szeged and Pécs are large regional universities with long-established English-taught medicine, in cities that cost noticeably less to live in.
Which side you want depends on what you came for. If you intend to work in Hungary after graduating in a non-medical field, Budapest is close to the only realistic answer. If you are studying medicine — and many Nepali students here are — the regional cities offer the same EU-recognised degree at a lower cost of living, and the Budapest job market is largely irrelevant to a career that will run through hospitals or through Nepal.
