If you have paid tuition as a full-degree higher-education student, you are generally NOT required to document separate living funds.
For a Nepali family whose savings sit in a microfinance institution — rejected outright by Sweden — or in a parent's name — rejected by Finland — this removes the problem rather than requiring you to solve it. Pay the tuition, and the living-funds question largely goes away.
If you have not paid tuition, or you are a guest or exchange student, the requirement applies:
If tuition is unpaid: DKK 7,426/month at the 2026 level, capped at DKK 89,112 for 12 months on studies longer than a year
Acceptable form: a bank statement less than 30 days old with your name visible and the currency stated, a scholarship, or similar
