Health-stream students must obtain a Medical Education Commission (MEC) pre-approval / eligibility letter before MoEST will issue the No Objection Certificate (NOC).
The MEC eligibility route for health courses generally requires sitting the Common Entrance Examination (CEE).
Without the MEC letter MoEST will not process the NOC, and without an NOC Nepali banks cannot legally remit tuition and the student visa is incomplete.
To work as a pharmacist or pharmacy assistant in Nepal you must pass the Nepal Pharmacy Council name-registration (licensing) examination and be entered in the Council's register.
Nepali citizens with a foreign pharmacy degree must obtain an equivalency certificate from the Council before they can sit the licensing exam.
Equivalence is not granted if the foreign degree falls short of the Council's minimum credit hours, syllabus, or internship standards — without it you cannot take the licensing exam.

Practising as a pharmacist abroad requires registration with that country's pharmacy regulator, usually through its own exams and assessment — typically a high bar for internationally-trained pharmacists.

Can I register as a pharmacist in Nepal after studying abroad?
Yes, but only after the Nepal Pharmacy Council grants equivalence to your foreign degree — and that's refused if the course falls short of Nepal's credit-hour, syllabus or internship standards. With equivalence, you then pass the NPC licensing exam and register.
Why does the course I pick abroad matter for registering in Nepal?
Because the Council checks the foreign programme against its standards before granting equivalence. A degree it won't equate can't be registered on, so confirm the programme meets NPC requirements before you enrol.
Do I need approval before going abroad to study pharmacy?
