In the Netherlands your university does most of the immigration work for you. That is genuinely easier — but it means the documents they ask for are the ones that decide your case.
The set below is what a Nepali applicant to the Netherlands is normally asked for. Your institution or your circumstances can add to it — treat this as the floor, and the official checklist as the ceiling.
Admission from a recognised sponsor
Dutch institutions act as recognised sponsors and apply to the immigration service on your behalf.
Passport
Valid, with copies of all pages the institution requests.
Academic documents
Transcripts and certificates, legalised where the institution requires it.
English test result
To the institution's standard.
Proof of funds
Usually transferred to the institution, which holds and confirms it.
Birth certificate
Frequently required and frequently needs legalisation — start early.
Health insurance
Arranged before or immediately on arrival.
Antecedents statement
A declaration about criminal history, submitted through the institution.

Ask the institution exactly what it needs legalised
Dutch institutions differ in how far they push the legalisation chain. Ask before you pay for stamps.
Remember Nepal cannot apostille
Dutch guidance is written around apostilles because most countries have them. For Nepal the answer is the MoFA attestation chain, and Dutch offices are familiar with it.
Get the birth certificate early
It is the document most often missing from a Nepali file, and the ward-office route plus translation plus attestation is measured in weeks.
Keep the institution informed
They are your applicant-side representative. A delay you tell them about is manageable; one they discover is not.

Whether your documents need legalising: ask your institution
The sponsor model removes a lot of uncertainty and adds one risk: if the institution's admissions office is slow, you have no independent way to push the immigration application along. Give them complete documents the first time.
