In most countries the capital holds the medical school, the biggest job market and the best universities together. Lithuania splits them. The Lithuanian University of Health Sciences is in Kaunas, not Vilnius — so the country's main international draw sits in its second city.
Meanwhile the English-language job market that decides whether a non-Lithuanian-speaking graduate can stay is overwhelmingly in Vilnius, in financial technology and shared services.

Medicine is in Kaunas. General and technical programmes are in both Vilnius and Kaunas. Maritime and coastal subjects are at Klaipėda.
Where the English-language jobs are
Vilnius, decisively — financial technology and shared services. Kaunas has a smaller version; Klaipėda very little.
Cost, modestly
Vilnius sits at the upper end of a narrow national range. The dormitory-versus-private-flat choice moves your budget far more than the city does.
