Germany has an embassy in Kathmandu that decides student visas itself — an advantage over most of Europe. It also has two requirements found nowhere else: a blocked account, and possibly an academic verification step.
The set below is what a Nepali applicant to Germany is normally asked for. Your institution or your circumstances can add to it — treat this as the floor, and the official checklist as the ceiling.
Admission letter
From a German higher-education institution, or a conditional admission to a preparatory course.
Blocked account (Sperrkonto)
Proof of funds held in a blocked account at the amount set for the year.
Passport
Valid, plus copies of the data pages.
Academic documents
School and university certificates and transcripts, with certified translations where not in English or German.
Language proof
German or English at the level your programme requires.
APS certificate
An academic verification certificate — whether Nepali applicants currently need one is set by the embassy, and sources disagree. Ask them.
Health insurance
Cover valid from your date of entry.

Student visas are national (long-stay) visas decided by the German Embassy in Kathmandu, not Schengen visas and not decided in Delhi. Because demand is high, appointments run through a waiting list — you register and wait to be called, so the appointment is often the long pole in your timeline.

Open a blocked account early
The Sperrkonto is a German bank account holding a year's living costs, released to you monthly after arrival. Opening it and transferring funds from Nepal takes time and interacts with the NOC.
Settle the APS question with the embassy
The Academic Evaluation Centre verifies foreign qualifications for some countries. Published sources disagree about Nepal's current status, so treat the embassy's own checklist as the only answer and ask directly.
Register for the appointment waiting list
You cannot simply book a slot. Register as soon as you have an admission letter — the wait is part of the process, not a delay in it.
Get translations right first time
Germany is strict about certified translation. A translation the embassy will not accept means restarting the document chain.

The NOC is a Nepal-side requirement, not Germany's — but without it a Nepali bank will not send your tuition, so it blocks everything downstream regardless of where you are going.
