your documents

Denmark runs student residence permits through SIRI, with the application started online and lodged in Kathmandu for onward handling. The forms are precise and the deadlines are real.

01what they ask for

The set below is what a Nepali applicant to Denmark is normally asked for. Your institution or your circumstances can add to it — treat this as the floor, and the official checklist as the ceiling.

Letter of admission

From a Danish higher-education institution.

ST1 application form

The SIRI student application, with the institution completing its part.

Passport

Valid, with copies of all pages containing entries.

Proof of tuition payment

Where fees apply, evidence of the first payment.

Proof of funds

Living costs at the amount Danish immigration sets for students.

Academic documents

As required by the institution.

English test result

To the institution's standard.

Biometrics

Recorded when you lodge the application.

02where you lodge it

The application is started online with SIRI, then lodged in person — for applicants in Nepal, at the visa application centre in Kathmandu, with the Danish mission covering Nepal from New Delhi. Biometrics are captured at lodgement.

03the ST1 form
1

Get the institution to complete its section

The ST1 has a part only your Danish institution can fill in. Chase it early; it is a common stalling point.

2

Pay the case-processing fee

Danish applications carry a fee paid before submission. An unpaid fee means an unsubmitted application.

3

Book the lodgement appointment

You have a limited window after starting online to lodge in person and give biometrics.

4

Prepare funds evidence to the exact standard

Denmark specifies the amount and the form the money can take. Approximate evidence is refused evidence.

04honest notes
read this before you plan a timeline

Denmark publishes its requirements clearly and applies them literally. The most common Nepali failure here is not a weak case but an incomplete one — a form section unfilled, a fee unpaid, a window missed.

Where this page shows a blank rather than a number, it is because we could not verify it against a source we would stand behind. A shown gap is more useful than a confident guess.

05the Nepal side

Most of your file is issued in Nepal and is identical whichever destination you choose. Each of these has its own guide with the office address, the fee and the steps.

Nepal step — the MoEST NOC comes after your offer and before you remit any tuition

The NOC is a Nepal-side requirement, not Denmark's — but without it a Nepali bank will not send your tuition, so it blocks everything downstream regardless of where you are going.
