Education & Teaching
A field with a real but narrow back-home gate — a teaching licence for school posts, but not for the many other education careers.

A TSC teaching licence is required to teach in government and community schools in Nepal, and some reputed private/international schools also require it.
Candidates with a qualification from a foreign institution must submit an equivalency certificate to be eligible for the licence.
The teaching licence certifies eligibility, not a job — government appointments run through a separate, competitive TSC recruitment exam.
Many education careers — private tutoring, online teaching, international-curriculum and non-school roles — generally do not require the TSC licence.
TSC licence exam pass standard (per level): ≥50% (e.g. 50 of 100, objective)
- Bachelor (BEd / education)
- Master (MEd, education leadership, TESOL, special education)
Teaching in schools abroad typically requires registration with that country's teacher-regulation body (e.g. state teacher registration in Australia), not the degree alone.
Australia
Teacher demand in several states, though classroom roles require state teacher registration and often an English test.
United Kingdom
Routes into teaching and education study, with school roles gated by qualified-teacher status.
Canada
Education programmes and provincial teacher certification, which is a separate multi-step process.
Can I teach in Nepal after studying education abroad?
For government and community schools you'll need the TSC teaching licence, with your foreign qualification recognised via an equivalency certificate. For private tutoring, online teaching or international-curriculum roles, the licence generally isn't required.
Does the teaching licence get me a government teaching job?
No — the licence certifies eligibility, not appointment. Government posts are filled through a separate, competitive TSC recruitment exam.
Is it hard to teach in schools abroad?
Often there's an extra step: school teaching abroad usually requires registration with that country's teacher-regulation body, separate from your degree. Education degrees also open non-school roles that don't need it.
