3before you leave Nepal

Engineering and architecture are regulated technical streams, so leaving Nepal to study one isn't the same as leaving for a general degree. There's a council step tied to the government's study-abroad approval that's easy to miss.

Technical streams including engineering require prior approval / an eligibility step from the relevant council before MoEST will issue the No Objection Certificate (NOC).

Without the required council document MoEST will not process the NOC, and without an NOC Nepali banks cannot legally remit tuition and the student visa is incomplete.

4coming home: can you practise?

A foreign engineering degree doesn't by itself let you practise in Nepal. Two checks stand in the way — whether NEC recognises your university, and, since 2023, a licensing exam many candidates fail.

Bachelor (BE/BEng Civil)

A full bachelor or a postgraduate specialisation; practising abroad runs through the destination's engineering body, not the degree alone.
